Pakoda

Mix Pakoda is a popular Indian snack made by deep-frying a mixture of various ingredients such as gram flour (besan), vegetables, spices, and herbs.

Ingredients

1 cup gram flour (besan)

1 medium-sized onion, thinly sliced

1 small potato, peeled and thinly slc ied

2-3 green chilies

1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

A pinch of asafoetida (hing)

Salt to taste

Water (as needed to make a thick batter)

Oil for deep frying

Procedure

1. In a mixing bowl, combine the gram flour, finely chopped onions, chopped potatoes, green chilies, red chili powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida, and salt, Corriander leaves, Corriander powder.

2. Mix all the ingredients well until the vegetables are coated with the spices and gram flour.

3. Gradually add water in small quantities and mix to form a thick batter. The batter should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.

4. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.

5. Once the oil is hot, drop spoonfuls of the pakoda batter into the hot oil. You can use your hands or a spoon to drop the batter.

6. Fry the pakodas until they turn golden brown and crispy. Make sure to flip them occasionally for even frying.

7. Once the pakodas are cooked, remove them from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil.

8. Repeat the frying process with the remaining batter.

9. Serve the mix pakodas hot with your favorite chutney or sauce.
